This was the first-ever trip by the Club way back in 1987. A scenic paddle up-river from the Black Rabbit Pub in Arundel suited to novice and experienced paddle alike. Not long after setting out, the river divides and travels around a large island – this forms ‘the loop’. Emerging from the top of the loop, one has the choice either to paddle back down the main river to the start or take a small diversion to South Stoke before returning. At South Stoke, one can picnic in the shadow of the church or during the warmer weather try mad pursuits like ‘bridge jumping’ – Go on the trip and you’ll see what this is all about! A good trip for brushing up on those skills and only about 3 miles.
